THOMAS J. AZZARELLI
Thomas J. Azzarelli, Certified Class A General Contractor, is responsible for all construction management and general contracting for Azzarelli Builders, Inc. Mr. Azzarelli's evaluation of the interrelationship between the architectural drafting table and in-field construction has contributed to a history of "on time", "under budget" projects for the company which consist of a total completed contracts in excess of $156,000,000. He holds the position of President of Azzarelli Builders, Inc. and Azzarelli Properties, Inc.
Mr. Azzarelli's work experience dates back to grade school when in the summer he worked as a carpenters helper assisting in remodel and cabinetry projects. While attending Jesuit High School in Tampa summers and vacation time were spent working for Azzarelli Construction Company, a family owned and operated highway and heavy construction business. By the age of 17, Mr. Azzarelli was the foreman of his own crew responsible for patch paving road crossings behind an underground utility crew.
Mr. Azzarelli attended Wake Forest University where he received an Associate Arts Degree while still operating construction crews during vacation time. After two years at Wake Forest Mr. Azzarelli transferred into the School of Building Construction at the University of Florida. While in this program Mr. Azzarelli was a member of the school honor fraternity and graduated with honors and a Bachelor Degree in Building Construction.
After graduation from the University of Florida Mr. Azzarelli immediately sat for and passed the Class A General Contractor exam becoming the youngest ever licensed contractor in the state of Florida (at that time). His work ethic allowed him to accumulate enough work experience to qualify for the state exam prior to having a full time job.
Immediately following college Mr. Azzarelli accepted a job with Federal Construction Company located in St. Petersburg, Florida as a project manager where the focus was on vertical commercial construction. In a move to get closer to home, Mr. Azzarelli followed his superior at Federal Construction to work for Paragon Contractors in Tampa. Paragon's focus was also on light commercial office buildings.
Finally after a short stay with Paragon, Mr. Azzarelli formed his own company, Azzarelli Builders, Inc., to construct multi-family and light commercial projects.
Today the focus of the company is virtually unchanged. The majority of contracts for Azzarelli Builders are negotiated, specializing in design build projects.
